Tuesday 18th-Saturday 22nd February 2020

For ages 15 - 18, this course gives young teens a chance to experience life working within a zoological collection and an insight into the animal world.

The intensive 5 day course covers practical husbandry experience with a range of animals which may include antelopes, reptiles, carnivores and giraffes. Tasks vary but can include: mucking out, preparing food, making enrichment devices or watching a training session.

There are also theory sessions on diet, anatomy, and behaviour, as well as workshops discussing topical issues within the industry. There will also be a question and answer session focusing on careers for both parents and students.

We will work with those on the course to develop a portfolio to provide evidence of work and successful completion of the course. Candidates will receive a certificate, personal reference statement and CD of images from their time on the course.
