Disabled Access and Wheelchair Friendly Days Out
Stay in Your Own Vehicle
Travel around the entire Knowsley Safari drive in your own vehicle, so everyone in your party can have a comfortable, wheelchair friendly day out in the North West.
Take the Baboon Bus
Don’t stress about your car. Book the Baboon Bus which has space for one wheelchair. This can take around 1 hour with no breaks and must be booked 48 hours in advance.
Wide Pathways
Walk around the foot safari with level paths and ramps along the way, making it ideal for disabled access days out. However, the Wolf Country woodland walk is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Accessible Viewing Platforms
We have accessible viewing platforms at most of our animal displays, with the exception of the giraffe platform. There is also wheelchair access for our sea lion display.
Excellent Toilet and Changing Facilities
All of our disabled bathrooms are spacious with plenty of room to move around. We also have changing beds and portable hoists, so you have all of the equipment you need.
Here’s what people are saying on TripAdvisor:
‘The disabled/ baby changing toilets were amazing. As someone who has worked in care, I have never seen a hoist and bed provided in any disabled toilets. It’s a really nice touch to make a day out easier and more accessible for everyone.’ - Rosanna, Fareham
‘I took my disabled foster child and my disabled brother in law with his carer. We booked on line and myself and the other carer were free. We booked to go on the baboon bus too. The bus trip through the safari was very informative and interesting we all enjoyed it.’ - Janet, Manchester
‘I'm disabled so many of these attractions I can only handle so much of but this was the perfect day out for a disabled person (…) The safari is all from inside your car so you drive around these roads and it starts with deer, antelopes, gazelles and rhinos on these long country roads, it really is beautiful.’ - bronheulog13, Island of Anglesey
‘I would just like to say that out of all of the safari parks I've been this is hands down the best one. I've got a sister who's disabled and in a wheelchair so it means a lot when a park caters to her needs.’ Rachel - Luton
