Since the 1st of June 2015, pet dogs haven’t been allowed in any areas of the safari park. We do however provide basic accommodation for your dog should you wish to bring them on your trip.
Assistance dogs are allowed access to pedestrian areas but not the animal areas. They are not allowed in the safari drive for safety reasons.
The exciting plans for our walk around area are commencing over the coming months and work has begun on a number of new additions to the park.
As always, our priority is the welfare of animals and the enjoyment and safety of our guests. The plans for the walk around area include immersive animal enclosures, which of course will mean it is impossible for dogs to be allowed into the area.
We appreciate that many of our guests enjoy bringing their dogs to the park and we hope that you understand our decision to change the current policy, based on the welfare of our animals.
Our kennel facilities are is designed to keep your dog comfortable and safe during your day trip to the safari. You are required to pay a £5 deposit, for which you will be given a padlock to secure your pet, and you will be refunded once the lock is returned to the front office before 4PM.
The kennels are located away from the walk around area and car park, in order to reduce any potential stressful stimulus. They are open-ended and sheltered to allow easy access in and out, protection from extreme weather, as well as ensuring fresh air.
You are welcome to bring blankets and beds that may make your dog feel more comfortable, and the facility does provide drinking water however you would be required to provide your own bowls.
