Fantastic days for uniform groups!
If you're looking for somewhere to take your Brownies, Cubs, Scouts and Guides group then there is nowhere better for adventure than Knowsley Safari. We've created amazing days for visiting uniform groups to experience all the safari has to offer; from seeing rhino, lions and baboons on a 5-mile Safari Drive to discovering meerkats, giraffe and tigers on our Foot Safari!
There is so much to see and do but don't worry, our education team has created the perfect day for visiting groups so you don't miss things like our bird of prey display or sea lion display. We can take a maximum of 30 children per group and a minimum of 10. If your group is larger than 30 we can run two sessions at the same time.
We offer 'earn a badge days' on Saturdays and Sundays. We have availability during the Autumn term.
Your adventure begins!
Your typical day could look like this...
Arrival 9.30am - Yayy! Welcome to Knowsley Safari everyone...
Safari Drive 10am - take a ride on our baboon bus to see all the animals
Snack time 11:30 - Whoa! Did you see the size of that rhino? Time to snack to boost our energy
Badge activities in our Safari School - 11.45am Get stuck into the badge work activities to help you earn your badge
Lunch time! - Re-fuel, pop to see our bats and have a play on the play area
Sea lions 1.30pm - the incredible story of these clever marine mammals, their adaptations and their role in nature
Badge activities on our foot safari; 2.00pm - discover more about the tigers, giraffes, meerkats and bush dogs while completing activities in your explorer packs
Home time everyone - 3.30pm Boo!
Uniform group adventure day
If you are not working towards any badges but would still like to visit you are very welcome to.
Here is what your day could look like:
10.30am baboon bus ride- spot all of our animals on the safari
12.00pm Sea lion display- find out how our sea lions are adapted
12.45pm Birds of prey - did you know vultures are nature’s recyclers? See them, owls and eagles swoop over your group!
1.30pm-2.30pm explore the foot safari- Bats, Tigers, Giraffes, meerkats and much more!
2.30pm onwards free time, option to get ride tickets - which is your favourite classic carousel, firm favourite dodgems or the pirate ship?
Standard Uniform Group Prices
£8 per children for entry
£6 per seat on the baboon bus**
£5 wristbands for unlimited ride access
Leaders are free
All other adults/helpers are £8 each*
Staying at Woodbank Activity Centre
If you are staying at woodbank activity centre and planning to come and visit the safari if you book a baboon bus we can pick you up from woodbank and drop you back off at the end of the day
*We understand you need a certain amount of leaders for your adult: child ratios, we work to NSPCC ratios, any other helpers that are not needed as part of the ratios will be charged at £8 each.
**To book our baboon buses we work to a minimum charge, if the number of children you are bringing doesn’t cover this minimum charge then we will ask for the extra to be paid/leaders to contribute to the cost of the bus.
