We want to make your visit to us a fantastic one, so we have pulled together everything you need to know in one easy to access place.
Preliminary Visit
Once booked in, all teachers are welcome on a free familiarisation visit to get to know the park. We request you ring the main office before you arrive to make us aware of your visit. Any accompanying family have to pay the normal entry price.
Lunch Times
There are plenty of picnic areas around the park including tables around the gift shop and restaurant areas. If the weather is unkind the sea lion arena will be opened at 11.30am for schools to shelter whilst eating. The safari tent, located opposite the train, has picnic benches inside where you can eat lunch. The indoor birds of prey can also be used, this must be vacated by 12.45pm as display preparations need to be made. Unfortunately, we do not have a specific area for storing packed lunches.
Rides
A selection of rides are open at certain times. Please ask for details when booking. A special rate is available for schools.
The train is available all year around – this gets you closer to the wetlands species – tickets are £1 per child.
Wristbands get you unlimited access to all the rides – these are a discounted price for schools – £5 per child.
Ice Lollies
On a hot summer’s day why not order a treat for the children. A range of flavours and prices are available – please ask when booking.
Goody Bags
Why not take the hassle out of shopping and pre-order gift bags. These are £3.00 each and can be ordered at the time of booking. An adult can then collect them from the shop on the day.
Suggested Itinerary
Most schools arrive for 10am when we open and leave at 2.30pm. If you would like our Learning & Discovery team to design a timetable for you taking into account times of any workshops or guided tours you have added then please ask – we are happy to help.
There is no set recommended way to spend your day at the park but the timings below will help you to plan your day to get the most of your visit.
- Sea lion displays are on at 12.00pm and 1.30pm
- Bird of prey display is at 12.45pm.
The sea lion and birds of prey display need to be booked in advance so seats can be allocated for your group. It is important that you arrive on time for the display you have booked as the park gets very busy during peak times of the year.
Payment
Payment is on arrival. We accept cash, card or cheques to “Knowsley Safari Park”. You just pay for the number in your party on the day. We can arrange a pro forma invoice if needed.
Feedback
All schools will be sent an email feedback survey after your visit. Your suggestions and comments are important to us so please use it to get in touch.
