Working together to secure their future

Vultures are under siege. Poisoning, habitat loss, power lines, and reduced food sources threaten their very existence. Some populations have plummeted by over 95% in just 30 years!

These majestic birds play a vital role in the ecosystem, keeping our environment clean. Their rapid decline has devastating consequences. We must act now to halt these threats and save vultures from extinction.

OUR CONSERVATION PARTNER

OUR AIM

To support the conservation of vultures and their habitats through donating conservation expertise, particularly in the areas of conservation education, public engagement and research support (including data analysis and compiling reports).

HOW WILL WE HELP?

Staff from Knowsley Safari will help develop and deliver public surveying tools to be deployed in local communities surrounding Shamwari, to better understand their knowledge, attitudes and feelings toward vultures. We will carry out analysis of the survey results and make recommendations to Vulpro on how best to proceed.

Knowsley Safari will also review Vulpro’s current educational materials and the creation of any new materials recommended following the results of the community survey, as well as support the delivery of these materials.

Support will also be provided in terms of data analysis and report writing regarding Vulpro’s translocation and breeding program, e.g. investigating breeding success rates, as well as the provision of resources or equipment where applicable.
