This Love Your Zoo Week, we’re celebrating what it means to be true Allies for Wildlife. At Knowsley Safari, conservation isn’t just part of what we do, it’s at the heart of everything. From Africa’s plains to the forests of South America and even right here in Merseyside, we’re proud to be part of a global movement making a real difference for wildlife.
Working Together for Wildlife
We believe conservation works best when we work together. That’s why we partner with international organisations to protect threatened species and habitats and bring those stories to life for our guests.
In Russia, we support WildCats Conservation Alliance to protect Amur tigers through anti-poaching efforts and education.
In Peru, we back Spectacled Bear Conservation, helping safeguard the rare Andean bear.
With Safina Lion Conservation, we fund the Lion Guardians programme, which empowers Maasai warriors to protect lions rather than hunt them.
In the Gobi Desert, we help the Wild Camel Protection Foundation save the critically endangered wild Bactrian camel.
Through VulPro, we’re helping reverse the rapid decline of African vultures with research and education.
With Helping Rhinos, we sponsor rhino conservation and raise awareness through guest activities and learning experiences.
Closer to home, we’re just as committed. Our work with the Mersey Gateway Environmental Trust helps protect local wildlife through habitat monitoring, species surveys, and community projects - from planting wildflowers to surveying plankton.
Our Research and Conservation team also leads important UK wildlife monitoring, from bird ringing to pollinator counts, ensuring we’re helping native species thrive.
