Knowsley Safari Park welcomes people with disabilities and has developed this Access Statement to address some of the more common issues.

This access statement is intended to provide additional information for all visitors who wish to come to the Safari Park or use its facilities. Recognition has been given to include visitors with any impairment.

Knowsley Safari Park aims to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use, or assist in, the provisions of our services, whether they have accessibility issues or not, are treated equally and according to their needs.

We request that anyone wishing to make a visit or booking inform us of any special needs or disabilities that they may have in order for us to meet any personal requirements. Our team is fully committed to help and assist.

Safari Drive
Travel around the safari drive is completed in your own vehicle, all vehicles take the same route with a car friendly alternative available at the monkey jungle. Dogs are not permitted within the safari drive but kennels are available to use free of charge while you complete the drive. Please ask at the entrance for more information and a padlock for the kennels (£5 deposit required).

Parking
Disabled parking is available at the top area of the car park adjacent to the shop and rest area courtyard.

Disabled Toilets
Disabled toilet facilities are available at the main rest area to the rear of the shop and in the ‘Watering Hole’ lay by area before entering the safari drive.

Safari School
The safari school is fully accessible to wheelchairs and has its own accessible toilet facilities for groups using the school. A hearing loop is installed to aide presentations and a member of the education team will be on hand to offer additional assistance.

Walkaround Area
The majority of the walkaround area is tarmac and easy to walk on or use a wheelchair/pushchair. There are some mild gradients in areas of the park. Low level viewing windows and ramp access to viewing areas are available to enable all visitors to have a great view of our animals.

Woodland Walk
The woodland walk has gravel paths and some steeper gradients that may make wheelchair access more difficult in some areas.

Sea Lion Show
Wheelchair accessible with a front row seating area and staff are available to assist anyone with additional requirements.

Restaurant
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers a range of food to cater for special dietary needs including diabetic and gluten free foods. Staff are available to assist with any additional requirements. Please call the restaurant on 0151 426 2127 for further information.

Gift Shop
The Gift shop is wheelchair accessible.

Lakeside Train
The lakeside train has a wheelchair accessible carriage and staff are on hand to assist any visitor on the train.

Amusement Rides
Staff are on hand to assist anyone onto the amusement rides. Due to the nature of the rides they may not be accessible to wheelchairs.

Wheelchair Hire
A small number of wheelchairs area available for hire, please contact our catering team on 0151 426 2127.

First Aid
First aid assistance is available on site please contact the nearest member of park staff who will contact a first aider for you. A private first aid room is available if needed for any additional requirements.
